Where are files downloaded via Safari browser stored on the iPhone?
In Safari browser on iPhones, the default file download folder location is iCloud Drive / Downloads. Yes, downloads from Safari are by default saved on remote iCloud servers, as opposed to the iPhone’s internal storage memory.
How to change Safari’s Download Location?
You can change Safari’s default location for storing downloads in iPhone Settings / Safari / Downloads. You can choose a local folder on your iPhone or an iCloud folder. Normally, all of these folders can be accessed using the iPhone’s Files app.
Note: This guide was tested on an iPhone with iOS 15. At the time of this writing, iOS 15 powers the majority of iPhone models, including the iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE 2, XR and older compatible models.
