iPhone: How to Open Look Up / Search Web Results in Chrome Instead of Safari?

If you use the Search Web option of the Look Up feature while surfing the web in Chrome browser on an iPhone, the search results obtained via Look Up / Search Web will open by default in Safari browser instead of Chrome.

If you want the Search Web results to stay and open in Chrome instead of jumping to Safari, you can do that easily in the Settings of the iPhone’s iOS operating system.

Here’s how to do that:

  • Go to Settings / Chrome / Default Browser App.
  • Select the Chrome option instead of Safari.

From now on, the Look Up / Search Web results will open in Chrome. They will open in a new Chrome tab.

Keep in mind that selecting Chrome as the default browser app will also make links in email and other apps open in Chrome instead of Safari, too.
